Another Wolverhampton meeting and further endorsement that a
high draw carries sway. The stats provided yesterday in my article ‘Driven
to enter the ATR Tipping Challenge’ was further endorsed by the following results:
5:45 12 runners (9)
6:20 7 runners (7)
6:50 11 runners (6)
7:20 12 runners (11)
7:50 12 runners (8)
8:20 10 runners (9)
8:50 11 runners (9)
9:20 12 runners (4)
Watching the evening races on re-run it was interesting to
see that ALL winners without exception raced at least 2 wide and came wide down
the home straight. This might well have been the catalyst behind the beating of
our sole selection of the evening, 4-1 Kicking The Can.
The exception to the rule which has seen 118 winners coming
from highest half of the draw, only 16 winners at the lower end was in the
finale. Dazeen drawn 4 in a 12 runner event appear to be plotting a course to
the inside before being switched violently to the outside as the gap to the
inside was closed.
With field sizes of 13, 11, 10, 7, 13, 11, 9 and 8 this
evening I can only think we will be seeing more of the same.
