16-1 Rakaan does the business at Lingfield Park

It was good to see things come together with the advised selection RAKAAN winning the pen-ultimate race at Lingfield Park yesterday. Unfortunately we have nothing of the same stature on today's cards.

With Skinny Latte the sole entrant having ventured onto this surface previously, recording a woeful effort, we are left with only breeding as an aid to solving the 12:00 Southwell conundrum and with only ST PAUL’S having a sire rating we can only choose to ignore the race or hope and pray!

STONEY QUINE has been made plenty of use of lately and looks marginally to have the edge in a field of 4 in the 12:30.

Goodlookin Lucy, Tobrata and Dontpaytheferryman have a fair level of form coming into Southwells 1:30 but have yet to attain the same standard as set by ROCK OF AGES over this trip.

There is no doubt of the credentials of CADEAUX PEARL in the 2:30 but its inconsistency is a worry at such a short price and although I would be reluctant taking it at its current price I would be loathed to back against it.

From the limited form on offer AL BUSAYYIR and Billy Blue set a reasonable standard in Kempton Parks 5:00. Although Billy Blue has the form over today’s trip, the step back in trip for AL BUSAYYIR looks favourable and suggests we may see an improvement on its LTO performance.

In Kempton Parks 5:30 UP TIPP had them stretched out over C&D on its last run before being headed by Shaunas Spirit in the final strides. Shaunas has franked the form since when backing up that Kempton Park success at Lingfield Park on its next run. Of the rest, Gypsy Rider is most likely to chase UP TIPP home.

CINCUENTA PASOS offers the best form on offer in Kemptons 6:00 but that was over 6f. With 6 debutants in this, and the remainder lightly race you are taking a leap of faith at the price which offers poor value.

Good luck and enjoy your racing 
