A quick review of Southwell and Wolverhampton today

Another second after being given to much to do, another non-runner and a horse that flattered to deceive for subscribers yesterday during this most frustrating of periods. Better to keep looking forward than back so on with the puzzles for today.

Inconsistency appears to be the qualifying credential for Wolverhampton’s 5:30. The one horse that has performed with a reasonable level on several occasions over this trip is MY CLAIRE.

In a weak 6:00 much will be dependent on pace with less than a handful of runners having a preference to be on the pace and no definite front runner, add that this is not the preferred trip for most. If we do get a true pace this could be light work for KYLE OF BUTE.

With question marks over the trip for probably the best horses in the race: Just The Tonic, Kung Hei Fat Choy, Emiratesdotcom, ONE WAY OR ANOTHER might get the opportunity to claim a Class 4 to follow up on two facile Class 6 wins.

Again the level of attainment of most runners over the trip leaves unanswered questions in the 7:00 with BOGSNOG and RELIGHT MY FIRE the two having set the highest standard over the trip.

There was much to like about the performance of SAKASH last time out. Exclusively raced at Yarmouth, first time on an All Weather surface this race sets a new challenge for the selection. Kindlelight Storm looks to offer the biggest threat coming back to the trip which saw its first victory in a Class 6 0-52.

Of the races at Southwell only the 12:40 has any appeal for me and the main attraction being CHRISSYCROSS who has done little wrong here over this trip.
