50-1 2nd gets the heart racing!

With no evening Wolverhampton meeting today and no fear of accusations of after-timing as ALL ratings were posted on the morning (see post) I thought I would run through yesterday’s post just to confirm we are on the same hymn sheet.

There is no doubt who should be seen as the main protagonist here and POWERFUL PIERRE through virtue of the rating achieved under -2.00 has the verdict. As there was more confusion over this race than any of the other races, what was not so apparent with regarding to why POWERFUL PIERRE and Trending’s rating were superior to that of Belle Bayardo is simply that the expected rating under -0.5 should be 100.5, therefore both had exceeded that rating by 0.1. Belle Bayardo only met the expectations under -1.0 rating at 101.0. POWERFUL PIERRE wins at 5-1 with Trending 2nd at 17-2

POYLE VINNIE could only manage third but a bigger consideration should be how well 2yo or 3yo races lend themselves to this style of analysis. As both race types are moving goal posts there is no doubt they offer a greater degree of risk.

Back to 3yo+ and FOREST EDGE is unquestionably the selection and wins at 9-2. Peace Seeker looks the biggest danger and finishes second at 8-1

This race increased the heart rate as 50-1 ALL THE WINDS stormed down the outside and looked to be getting the best of the argument only to be ground down by Muhtaris.

PICCOLO EXPRESS again unquestionably the selection and looked like landing the prize but was warned down by Orpsie Boy who clearly looks the danger.

Clearly ONE WAY OR ANOTHER who wins at 5-4.

Summary: Winners at 5-1, 9-2 and 5-4. Second at 50-1 and thirds at 8-1 and 5-2.
