Lingfield Parks Golden Highway reversal

A disappointing day across the two All Weather cards yesterday which delivered only OUTBACK TRAVELLER (advised at 9-4 rule 4 10p) in the Lingfield Park opener. The irony in the result was that Outback Travellers prior run was a win with the benefit of coming down Lingfields Golden Highway on the turf course casting some doubt on the value of the victory. In comparison, selection Rufoof in Kemptons 8:10 was unable to get the golden highway on its previous run but still manage the victory suggesting that better could be expect.

Rufoof, on a hat-trick had raced prominently on both its previous two victories and for reasons unknown Dane O'Neill had contrived to get Rufoof to tail-end charlie as they turned for home. This and other inexplicable poor performances from others culminated in a 3.75 point loss on the day. After months of winning days, a losing day seems to hurt that much more.

My small stakes yankee fared no better with Fever Few finishing 4th at 20-1, Volcanic Dust 3rd at 10-1,  14-1 shot Johnno won after being backed down to 8-1 and Give Way Nelson is still running!

How much better I would have felt with straight wins :(. Outside of subscribers selections, little beyond 28-1 Pink Mischief in the finale holds any attraction today at Kempton Park so a little EW tickle to small stakes is the order of the day.
