Although yesterdays offerings did nothing for the bank balance it would be wise to stay on the right side of PEREIRA. What the resulting third place doesn’t tell you is how it absolutely blitzed over 5f. Unfortunately this was before the race on the way to the start.

Even after that exertion PEREIRA still remained competitive at the finish going down by only 2 lengths. A bitter sweet result was always likely as the two point subscriber’s selection Taglietelle took the race. I would like to point out that we were on at odds against at not the 8-13 SP.

A non-runner and abysmal flop FLASHLIGHT did nothing to right the wrongs of the 7:15

On the ‘Pace and Going’ front today Wolverhampton offers nothing as consistent as I would like to see with EXCEEDEXPECTATIONS in the 4:45 and SPRING TONIC 5:15 as close to perfection as I can find, but with each having one questionable rating as a chink in the armour.

Kempton looks much the same with the exception of STORM Kempton 6:30 who fits the bill as a horse of merit but is likely to be a price that will prohibit any money going down. As with the Wolverhampton card FLYING TEMPO 8:00 Kempton has only the one blemish on its record so fails to meet my strict criteria.

Flat Turf Showpiece event William Hill Lincoln already under threat

With the Flat Turf season only days away already the weather threatens a showpiece event. 

The British Horseracing Authority and the Levy Board have sanctioned a seven-race card because of an unfavourable weather forecast that could threaten racing on turf.

The main meeting on Saturday is at Doncaster featuring the William Hill Lincoln, the first big race of the new turf Flat season.

Races at Southwell will close at noon on Thursday and final declarations must be made by 10.00 am on Friday. The first race is due off at 1.25.

Not a lot takes the eye at Kempton Park today until the main event at 4:20 where I would like to make a case for one at a big price RONINSKI who is never far away in this grade come the finish. Although its recent win to run ratio is poor, its distance beaten would suggest it will make the frame at a nice price. The only horse in the field with a Lincoln entry, I can’t pretend am not concerned that this outing might in preparation for 5 days time where it currently trades at 33-1.

The selections below are not selections sent out to subscribers but simply other considerations

Lingfield Parks opener at 2:15 look like a motley crew and the basis on which The Manx Missile is favourite looks more to do with Trainer and Jockey, possibly breeding than anything in the form book. I am happier siding with HAWSIES DREAM from both a form and speed perspective, the better price is a welcome bi-product.

You might think I am going to follow this horse over the edge of a cliff but surely BAPAK BANSAWAN will finally get his head in front in Lingfields 2:45. Badly hampered last time out and just caught on its penultimate run it, has certainly not had fortune on its side. Until today that is J

Now on the same mark as its last win here.
BUBBLY BALLERINA is a model of consistency and with Danziger now looking to be in the hands of the handicapper has only Catalina’s Diamond to fear in the 3:15.

In the 3:45 SILVER DIXIE looked like there was room for improvement and is bred to get further than when beating Pencombe last time out over 10f. El Massivo has won over course and distance but the recent run of Mirth who was only 1.3/4 length away has put that victory in to perspective.

It felt a little like digging ourselves in to a hole before digging ourselves back out for The Actuary All Weather Horse Racing Tips subscribers today with our earlier selections and better prices failing including 3 point selection Spring Tonic who was 5 lengths clear of all rivals with the exception of the winner Erodium.

With only FARRAAJ (@9-4) providing any respite we found ourselves 6 points down AFTER THE 4:05 Lingfield Park. This is where the tide turned and our three remaining selections all came home in front.

First saw BUCKLAND drift like the proverbial barge from 5-2 to 9-2 giving us 4.5 points leaving us -1.5 adrift.

2 point selection CLASSIC COLORI (@6-4) put us a little ahead by +1.50 points and finishing off with HIDDEN COIN (@EVENS) leaving us ending the day 2.5 points in front.

Although it will never influence selections, when you wake each morning in the hope of continuing a long run of profitable days, 2.5 points is not spectacular but in terms of how the day started it came as a great relief. :)

The Actuary All Weather Horse Race Tips Lingfield Park and Wolverhampton preview

I feel a little aggrieved with results yesterday given that Sublimation should have have won but for taking the car park route and the narrowest margin of defeat for Sennockian Star but that racing.

I guess I would be more aggrieved to have jumped on the W.A. Murphy bandwagon whose four heavily backed horses all finished last at Wolverhgampton last night.

There may be a question mark over FARMLEIGH HOUSE regarding the trip but in a race where they are sure to blast out from the gate I would be hopeful that FARMLEIGH HOUSE form over 6f should see it in the frame in Lingfield Park 2:20 at a reasonable EW price.

HOARDING is another one who is rarely out of the frame and again has the advantage of being competitive over further in Lingfield Park 2:55 at a reasonable price.

There could be a question regarding trip with a short priced FRONTIER FIGHTER in Wolverhampton’s opener but I wouldn’t want to back against it in this company

PARTY PALACE wouldn’t jump out at you in Wolverhampton’s 6:50 but jockey Jordan Vaughans 80% record does. Having already successfully paired up there is no surprised that PARTY PALACE has shortened from 10-1 to a best price of 6-1

Wolverhampton 9:20 sees only four take their places and the outsider of the four BRUNELLO is a big price considering it boast the only distance win in the race albeit over a different surface.

A nice treble of winners for The Actuary All Weather Race Tips subscribers today with Officer In Command (3-1) followed in the next by Absent Amy (9-4) and then Wakeup Little Suzy (5-2)

If there could be any disappointment on another day of profit it would be the ride on our best price selection today Cabal (advised at 12-1) in Wolverhampton’s 5:25 where Neil Farley appeared to be holding in the selection behind the subsequent winner Sinchiroka when there was ample opportunity and space to have cut inside. As the margin of victory, or in our case loss was only ¾ of length, my opinion is that decisive move at the right time would have made all the difference.

The Actuary All Weather Horse Race Tips Lingfield Park and Wolverhampton preview

The selections below are not selections set out to subscribers but other considerations

With a card of small fields at Lingfield Park today and with a question mark in most races as to who will be the likely pace you are going have take it on trust that there will be something willing to do the dirty work. Coupled with small fields are small prices so there is little value from a betting perspective.

You can never tell with Richard Hannons scattered gun approach to placing his horses whether they are there to win or are in preparation for something better. Although SUBLIMATION is going to be skinny price I would not bet against it taking the Lingfield Park opener at 13:55.

At the prices MIRTH looks the value bet in Lingfield 2:30 with a much improved performance last time out when stepped up to today’s trip before being tapped for toe in the closing stages beaten 1.1/4 lengths. I am hopeful Joe Fanning will set a stronger pace than the pedestrian pace set by MIRTH on that occasion. Let’s hope it’s no mirth and mayhem!

Lingfields 3:45 looks very much like a matchup between SENNOKIAN STAR and Raging Bear and although the latter was slow away last time out so did well to be a never nearer second I am more taken by the gutsy determination show by SENNOKIAN STAR last time out. Making the pace in a five horse race the selection was able to repel all but the progressive King George River.

The form from the last time out of Nellie Bly was let down by Star Of Rohm earlier in the week, albeit on a different surface and the run didn’t suggest to me that a step up to 7f was a favourable move. I was more taken by the performance of LAUDATION who faltered a little in the straight before staying on again over today’s trip.

The only races of interest at Wolverhampton carry The Actuary All Weather Race Tips for subscribers so will leave alone in terms of free tips.

Another winning day for The Actuary All Weather Horse Racing Tips

With two 2 point selections and two 1 point selections for The Actuary Horse Race Tips today on Wolverhampton card, we arent able to boast on the days strike rate unlike Chookie Royale who kept its 100% record at the track.

2 point selection Chookie Royale (advised overnight at 5-1) pulled hard throughout the trip for Joe Fanning which is always a concern but edging of the rail as they turned in it became apparent that our selection still had plenty in the tank and recorded a comfortable 1.1/4 length victory.

The 10 points won negate the 4 points lost on other selections for the day.

The Actuary All Weather Horse Racing Tips Wolverhampton preview

The race tips selection below are NOT selections sent out to subscribers!

Riskit Fora Biskit is going to be a warm order tonight to maintain the unbeaten record but based upon its penultimate run I am hopeful that BOLD PREDICTION (5:45) will give the odds on favourite a race in the closing stages. Although a 7 times maiden, on its only start on the All Weather at Kempton Park BOLD PREDICTION still looked green and I feel that even though it closed down on the winner all the way to the line, Richard Hughes appeared not to give it everything in a stop start finish. Currently trading at 10-1 outsider of the quartet I think is ridiculously good value.

There is no doubt that PHEBES WISH (8:45) is a better horse on the All Weather than turf, recording 2 wins from three starts including a C&D win. Its last run and only loss on an artifice surface came at Dundalk in far better company than this beaten 3.3/4 lengths to a horse now rated 98 over 5f. The return to 6f at Wolverhampton looks ideal.    

Another winning day for The Actuary All Weather Horse Racing Tips

Not the sexiest days racing so not the sexiest day’s results but it was another winning day for The Actuary All Weather Horse Racing Tips today. For those betting with the BOG’s we also had the good fortune of our winners drifting with larger SP’s than the prices taken this morning.

First up was Misleading Promise in Southwell’s 3:45, available at 11-10 this morning before going odds on and then drifting to an SP of 5-4.

The result was almost a foregone conclusion at the halfway stage with the horse I most feared Myzamour being scrubbed along at the back of the field. Liam Keniry had our selection on the bridle for the whole journey to record a fascicle 8 length victory. The price was skinny but when they win in that manner it’s like a licence to print money!

The one disappointment of the day was Gebayl who ran a poor second to odds on Fraserburgh.

Our final race of interest was Kempton’s 6:20 where we originally had two selections with Millys Gift and Firmdecisions until the latter was taken out. Having taken the opening price of 5-2 Millys Gift once again we had the bonus of a drift to an SP of 11-4.

John Fahy challenged the 4-11 on favourite Yo Da One up the inside rail as they came down the home straight and always had its measure. With little more than hands and heels Millys Gift maintained a healthy 1.1/2 lengths advantage over the last half furlong to the line.

The Actuary All Weather Horse Racing Tips reports great news for Great Leighs

There was great excitement in the The Actuary All Weather Horse Racing Tips camp when the news broke that a new course would be adding to the All Weather calendar. Complementing courses at Kempton Park, Lingfield Park, Southwell and Wolverhampton a new track would join the racing calendar at Great Leighs.

With the first fixture taking place on April 20th 2008 the excitement was short lived as by 16th January 2009 the course went in to administration. New owners stepped in and had hope to be part of the 2013 season fixtures list but this was reject by the BHA.

The good news for All Weather officianados is that on 4th March 2013 Chelmsford City Council granted planning permission for a permanent 30,000 sq ft Hospitality Complex to be built at the Great Leighs course.

The building is designed as an entertainment venue that meets the needs of the race-going public with a total capacity of 3,500. The building will predominantly be single storey with a two storey section in the middle and constructed mainly of steel and glass in order to offer 360 degree viewing. A roof uplift offers an additional 360 degree viewing platform during race days and unique hospitality and dining experience for non race days when other equine related events will be taking place. The building will sit on the inside of the track, and is low in height so as not to block viewing once the phase 2 grandstand is constructed and in use

Keith Brown, Chairman of Great Leighs, said “We are pleased to be granted planning permission as this fulfils an important condition in relation to our BHA licence application.”

The Actuary All Weather Horse Racing Tips Southwell and Kempton Park Preview

Whether Alpha Tauri will take its place in Southwells 2:30 is questionable after its success over C&D yesterday. The same question may be asked of Bitaphon who chased it home. Both might have had harder races than would be ideal for a return today. I am taken with the chances of RIO COBOLO, already a C&D winner and the last time out form franked by Mujaadel.

With a subscriber selection already in Southwell’s 3:45 I most fear three times bridesmaid MYZAMOUR. A resolute galloper who could be well suited to the Southwell surface aided by a slightly shorter trip.

Although the 5:05 will see plenty of support for Fraserburgh, at the prices I would prefer to take my chances with GEBAYL. Only beaten a nose over C&D BY Apache Rising the pair drew well away from the remainder of the field.

Although it is wiser to stay with tried and trust form on the surface, the last two performances of SANNIBEL at Lingfield Park were note worthy. On both occasions suffering small margin defeats when finishing well, I would be disappointed not to be on when it finally gets its head in front.

A trip to Southwell didn’t pay off for COMPTON RAINBOW last time out beaten 8 lengths second to the prolific Dewala. A return to the scene of its last two victories tonight at Kempton Park look to be far more favourable.

Another winning day for The Actuary All Weather Horse Racing Tips

Subscribers to The Actuary All Weather Horse Racing Tips where in the money again today, which was good news for all those with any Cheltenham blues.

Dewala, our first selection of the day found one to good but not the case for our second of two selections Honey Of A Kitten. With plenty of 4-1 available this morning our selection was given plenty of market support and returned 10-11.

To my eyes Adam Kirby appeared to have given the leaders to much rope as they stretched a good 6 lengths clear as they went in to the first turn. Having been trying to keep the horse covered up for as long as possible Kirby brought Honey Of A Kitten out as they passed the 4 furlong pole and it was apparent that his judgement of pace was far better than mine and was almost on terms as they straightened up. The only danger inside the final furlong was The Actuary * rated horse Buaiteior at 28-1 who closed all the way to the line and is one to take out of the race.
