Stand Guard, Hugh Taylor v The Actuary and 3 for today

The field sizes at both Lingfield Park and Kempton Park today are a stark contrast to what has been on offer at Wolverhampton and the specialist surface of Southwell over recent days. Hopefully todays fields will result in some more entertaining racing and prices. No skulduggery as witnessed yesterday when Stand Guard was pulled from what was likely to be a two horse race. Even as the happy recipient of 4-5 and a 40p Rule 4, irrespective of whether the withdraw was justifiable, if a means to manipulated a market is recognised by the BHA, it needs to be addressed.

For me, the highlight of the day at Southwell came in the last with Day Star Lad who drifted friendless from 9-4 out to an SP of 3-1. Not only a subscriber selection along with Mr Burbidge, but the Hugh Taylor (Indira) v The Actuary selection, plus being one of the two profile horses for the day. The victory was emphatic but I felt as fretful watching the re-run as I did watching the race live as Jacob Butterfield sat motionless until the final furlong before drawing away by 7 lengths.

We have three ‘Profile’ horses today, all at nice prices, the last of which is already gaining market support so I would suggest getting on as early as possible. Enter your email below and it will take you to today’s three profile horses or navigate to the link you have already if you have previously submitted your email.

Good Luck and have a great days racing J
