16-1 Winner Shavansky, not so hard to find!

With the market suggesting a two horse race in Lingfield Parks 5:05 with Grendisar and Blue Wave heading the market at 7-4 and 3-1 respectively, The price of Shavansky came as a complete surprise given its superior performance over this C&D back on the 4th January.

On that occasion it was beaten 4 lengths by Castel del Diablo after taking up the running 3 furlongs from home under today’s jockey Shirley Teasdale. A far more patient ride today saw Shavansky held on to until straightening up 1.1/2 furlongs out to win a shade cosily.

With Blue Wave unlikely to be seen at its best over this trip, as the figures suggested, it was left to Grendisar to chase Shavansky home with the latter always able to keep a comfortable margin ahead.
