Dawn, Drawn, Drawn, Dawn and the General on the pace! I'm confused

It took me awhile to work out why Drawnfromthepast was entered in to the first two races at Lingfield Park today and will be going to Specsavers later today. It doent take much to confuse me and I’m still scratching my head over how a horse that that has for years been scrubbed along almost tailed off before staying on to deliver a challenge at Southwell sits up with the pace and wonder whether that was General Tufto I witnessed yesterday up on the pace!

Today we can afford to be a little more selective with two cards and perhaps the opener at Lingfield Park at 12:30 should be given a wide berth with VODKA CHASER being the horse that has inconsistently faired the best.

The 1:00, for different reasons might be another to avoid with very little to choose between Decision By One, SECRET MILLIONAIRE, Mossgo and Drawnfromthepast. Yes, that’s Drawn and not Dawn. As equal as they are on my ratings, they are not so level on consistency and of the quartet SECRET MILLIONAIRE gets that prize.

There are plenty that have achieved beyond what it should take to win the 1:30 and although not a race that I will be keen to get involved HERBALIST looks good value if able to reproduce previous form over the trip.

The 2:00 is another race with tight margins on past performances over the trip and although it is hard to knock the Kempton performance of Cayuga I feel those at the bottom of the handicap hold stronger credentials. As Synocopate needs things to fall its way I am happier taking Modernism and MARIA’S CHOICE and the booking of Mr Spencer on the former is eye-catching but there is still that LTO performance to worry about. MARIAS CHOICE at the price and its time recorded over this trip should put it in the frame.

Its hard to take a disliking to a horse that finishes its races in the manner of SMOKETHATHUNDERS and I can see no Agerzam’s (85) in this field in Lingfield 3:10 Billy Red and Seek The Fair Land are likely to be the horses that it will need to track down.

Fonterutoli is a worthy adversary on its LTO performance in the 3:40 but ONE LAST DREAM looks to have its measure on the clock. With so little distance form in the race tactics could be a key issue for the remainder but as the selection front runs they could be just playing for the minor honours.

Kempton will come later but hope you all have a great day with your Lingfield picks

Perfect Crackers last time out performance over the trip LTO makes it a worthy favourite in Kempton Parks opener at 4:10. Equally, the performances of both Swehan and LADY LUNCHALOT over this trip are equally worthy of note. LADY LUNCHALOT currently priced at 14-1 looks value to make the frame.

At motley bunch turn out in the 5:10 and BLUE NOODLES looks the only horse to recommend on the basis that it has previously achieved. The market support for Irish raider Jjs Pride is notable in such a poor race.

In short the 6:10 looks nailed on for NEW RICH but the last time I said that was Laylas Boy who was near to being pulled up after being supported all day! If there were a danger it may be C&D winner Indian Affair who currently has two duck eggs after its name, but its LTO was only beaten 4th lengths by Perfect Venture and now has the advantage of Adam Kirby in the plate.

The 6:40 is starting to cut up with two prominent non-runners yet IVORS PRINCESS remains at 14-1 and looks to have good EW claims. I have no interest in the favourite Welsh Sunrise over this trip but recognise the threat that Perfect Haven poses.

Good Luck and have fun ;)
