KUANYAO (opened 7-1) was the only bright light for
subscribers yesterday and pace played a part in the demise of several others
with Bancnuanaheireann and Nautilus falling foul to muddling slow paces and
Grandad Mac attempting to break the course mile record in a 2 mile race.
We did see some good performance from yesterday’s post with
Picansort showing to be worthy of running in better company being completed
blocked in for half a furlong before finishing full of running. The Mongoose was
caught late finishing third to the two dangers mentioned and Knockgraffon Lad
finished second in his respective race as did Ex Ex. Celtic Charlie also
finished in the frame at a handsome 14-1.
Today, BROWN PETE would have been of interest in the opener
but as it is now being housed in unlicensed premises since its move to Ann Stokell
has been withdrawn for the second time in a week on request from the BHA. I most
certainty have no interest in the jolly Prince Of Burma when even on its best
form it looks to be inferior to UNEX MICHELANGELO and Mcmonagle. The former
also has the advantage of an above standard time over C&D and more
attractively priced.
There is little margin for error in the 4:20 and the RUN IT
TWICE sets a good standard on its last C&D run back in April and is now
10lb further down the handicap. Most consistent is Piccolo Express and it would
be no surprise to see the two battle out the finish.
Although not seen over C&D Wyatt Earp is better than its
form figures suggest and at 28’s could well find itself in the placing’s in the
6:50. GIVE US A BELLE is a worthy favourite based upon its two C&D
performances but whether being 6lb higher may be a bridge to far remains to be
seen.
In Div II Divertimenti has been over C&D nine times and
its last C&D run was arguable its best and is now 2lb better off. At a big
price CHATEAU LOLA makes its 15 C&D appearance and may well have the
measure of many of these.
Good luck to you all :)
