Out with the new, In with the old at Wolverhampton

Another day of places and a non-runner continuing a frustrating run on Saturday for subscribers but at least this time we had no hard luck stories. Such is my frustration during November I have now taken to also backing selection to place on the exchanges. Damage limitation!

Not a day to get heavily involved in Wolverhampton due to quality, field size and the small data volume available on afternoon races suggesting that the going is more erratic during afternoon meetings whereas evenings are starting to stabilize.

The opener two races at 1:55 and 2:30 look battles of new against old with the lightly raced 3yo Jiminy taking on the likes of old campaigners like 6yo DANZOE followed by 4yo Compton Prince taking on 9yo Fathom Five and STEELCUT. I have the preference to side with the experience of old campaigners in these races as they also tend to offer greater value.

The 4:30 looks like a good opportunity for STARTLIGHT PRINCESS based upon the performance when winning last time and sets the standard from the form on offer. The inconsistencies prior to this are a concern but this looks to be the trip which has seen her at her most consistent.

The 5:30 sees the reappearance of our 50-1 beaten by ¾ length selection All The Winds, but that was over 12f and the question is whether the extra half mile might possibly blunt the ability to finishing fast and late as witnessed last time out. My preference is with C&D winner MURCAR, with the only other distance winner on the flat in this field being Toughness Danon.

Good luck everyone J
