In looking for a value bet with a preference for one of the
three All Weather races on a mix card at Lingfield Park, I am pinning my
colours to an EW selection in a race where I believe the odds on favourite is opposable.
Already having a subscriber’s selection in the race to oppose the odds in jolly, I could
have double egg on my face by suggesting that EL MASSIVO, currently trading at
14-1 is a lively outsider to make the frame. Already nibbled at from 20’s
overnight, dare I say is still a MASSIVO price at 14's for a horse that put up a
pleasing effort over C&D the last time it ran on the surface.
EL MASSIVO was beaten just over two lengths on that occasion
by Poetic Verse who went on to notch up a further two victories and Edwyn Ralph who
also won on its reappearance. After a couple of modest performances back on
turf EL MASSIVO finds itself 1lb better off in the weights against weaker
opposition and should make the frame.
