Although not the fastest race for the grade on the card at
Kempton Park: that honour surprisingly was recorded by Poyle Thomas in the 3yo+
Maiden: the most eye catching performance of the day has to go to 3yo Great
Crested who showed a blistering turn of foot to blitz its rival in the 5:30
As my top rated, a winning performance was not unexpected
but the
manner of victory was well beyond what was expected. Great Crested has declined its entry at Brighton tonight but I am sure Gary Moore will be keen meet the next engagement in Lingfield Parks 6:40 on the 20th June with a 6lb penalty.

One more for the notebook and likely to be a bigger price
than the aforementioned is Buaiteoir who was out the back in the Kempton Park
opener and was unable to make the ground necessary to be in a competitive
position as they turned for home but made eye catching headway in the straight.
As for today, in the hope that you aren't to deflated after the bookies benefit called the Ascot Festival and outside of the two races carrying subscriber
selections FUTURE REFERENCE looks like a lively contender in the 7:10 having
recorded a reasonable time in amongst better company when finishing second by 2
lengths to Labienus. Unfortunately the current form of Saeed bin Suroor may
make FUTURE REFERENCE a shorter price than deserved.
KEENE’S POINTE claims in the 9:10 are getting better by the
minute as the field of 12 is at the last check now a field of 9. After a
reasonable effort on the turf last time out in a 0-100 on soft ground, I am
sure the return to this surface in lesser company will see KEENE’S POINTE in
the mix.
