When there have been only two winners coming out of your
winning maiden race it may cast a shadow of doubt on the value of the form,
equally you can only beat what is put in front you and PRESS ROOM did that with
consummate ease on its last outing as a 2yo at Wolverhampton back in November 2012.
Racing over a similar trip as today, Saeed bin Suroor’s
charged was booted clear of the field at the 2 furlong pole and had only the
fast finishing Bin Singspiel to worry about as Silvestre De Sousa eased PRESS
ROOM down to win by an unflattering neck.
Bin Singspiel has done nothing to frank this form in two
subsequent runs but I take on trust that the stable has bought PRESS ROOM on
for its first 3yo run. Already nibbled at in the market from 5-1 to 4-1, I am
hopeful that PRESS ROOM will give the favourite Big Thunder most to think
about.
Big Thunders fascicle win LTO came as a bolt from the blue
(slight pun) given that it had shown nothing in its previous four starts and I
question whether it can reproduced that manner of victory back on the All Weather in better
company.
