HONEST STRIKE put his best foot forward when last seen over
this course and distance. That was off a mark of 52 and the fascicle manner of
victory would suggest that racing off a mark of 56 today should hold no fears
in similar company.
We do have to excuse the last time out run at Wolverhampton
where HONEST STRIKE was beaten 7 ½ lengths over what might now be deemed to be an
inadequate 14 furlongs on a track where it has now racked up 4 poor runs. This
was a stark contrast to the performance at Lingfield Park over 2 miles.
Nothing was going easier than HONEST STRIKE as they turned for
home, coming from the back of the pack and gobbling up its rivals to win a
shade cozily under Shane Kelly who is booked for the ride again today.
