“Those
that Hobgoblin call you and sweet Puck, You do their work, and they
shall have good luck”
Although I wouldn't view yesterday success by 2 point
selection Excellent Puck as luck, with no fewer than 26 placed selections in
the past month in among the winners it was extremely rewarding, in every way
to see Excellent Puck (advised overnight at 7-1) romped to victory beating 2-1 favourite Mizyen with consummate ease. The earlier success of our first selection on the card Requested
(advised at 2-1) assisted in adding 16 points to the bank, a welcome shot in the arm for Aprils
figures.
I am not usually an advocate of E.W. or Place betting but outside
of the months winners we have suffered only 16 horses unplaced and the maths
would suggest that we can gain greater stability and profit by doubling our
betting stake and splitting it with half on the win and half on the place.
Unfortunately, it is neigh on impossible to get a retrospective
view of place payouts so I will endeavor to make you aware of the pro’s and
cons in real-time starting with Wolverhampton's meeting tomorrow evening.
My intention will be to continue to place the win bet with a
BOG and put in an order at a quarter of the win odds on Betfair to the same
stake unless better is already available with ‘Take SP’ At In Play.
