The Actuary Horse Racing Tips January 2013 Report

The Actuary Horse Racing Tips is off and running with a hard fought profit in January 2013. Although the size of the profit was a mere 12.10 points I am perhaps a little more pleased than the bare figures would suggest I have the right to be due to the small loss made in January 2012. A positive sign that we continue to improve and a step towards surpassing the 395 points profit made last year.

The picture changed dramatically during the past week. After starting the month well, we found ourselves either flat lining or regressing throughout January. The final week saw Toymaker 20-1, Bradbury 10-1 and Fleetwoodsands 7-1 change our outlook considerably after a string of shorties being produced from the methodical processes.

The 12.10 points profit looks a skinny return from a 29.41% strike rate. With a further 33% of selections finishing 2nd or 3rd we ended the month with 62.35% selections making the frame which has left me pondering over whether to raise the bar slightly on selections from the least productive methods.
