The Actuary gives subscribers some Dubai Sunshine!

Having just sent tomorrows selection I guess today could be seen as the calm before the storm for The Actuary Horse Racing Tips subscribers. With only three races at Southwell of any financial interest today it was not the best of starts as Poetic Princess failed to live up to expectations in what became a one horse race as Winged Icarus was never headed, scoring by a very comfortable 12 lengths.

Subscribers next race of interest was the 7:20 with two selections Ace Of Spies advised at 20-1 and Basle advised at 6-1, the former raising the heart rate as it struct the front in the final furlong.

Luke Morris hits the front on Ace Of Spies (center) advised at 20-1

Unfortunately the excitement and the promise of a big payday was short lived as the not so attractive Leonna Mayor produced Community out of the pack relegating the selection to a second place finish.

Our day now hinged on 3 point selection Dubai Sunshine advised at 9-1 (Paddy Power) in the 1 mile Apprentice Handicap in the finale.

Ian Burns takes selection Dubai Sunshine to the front as they turn for home

My main concern of the draw (11) was stylishly overcome by 3lb claiming Ian Burns who stalked the leader Tight Lipped. The pair opened up a useful advantage as they turned for home with Dubai Sunshine looking to be going far the better. As they came down the straight and Tight Lipped faded, only the 6-4 fav. Kung Hei Fat Choy looked capable of mounting a challenge as it closed to within a couple of lengths before becoming one paced and running out of real-estate and the selection Dubai Sunshine landed a 27 point win.

With the number of selection we have tomorrow across the two meetings we can play with comfort :)
