The Actuary Horse Racing Tips drew a blanks from the few selections made at Southwell yesterday. The couple of P&G interests thrown up ran favourably without boosting the bank at Casa Actuary.
Hakuna Matata looked more likely to be pull up in the opening exchanges than finish third at 16-1. With the winner Alpha Tauri scorching off in front from the get go, the race didn't conform to the usual pattern and the selection was doing all its best work in the closing stages.
Feeling Good also featured as a selection for 'On The Money' and 'Speed and Class' so it was somewhat disappointing to see Feeling Good run down in the final strides by a horse that was under pressure turning for home. Feeling Good was going well turning for home under Barry McHugh who always seemed to be unsure when to put the hammer down.
That was yesterday! Today we have some new opportunities (8) the best I believe to be Lily Lily. Although it was 845 days since Lily Lily last appeared at Southwell her form figures of 112 at the course and P&G ratings that would suggest that the quality of these races was above today's standard makes me feel reasonably confident that at minimum Lily Lily should be in the frame.
