As a Horse Racing Tipster, it would be somewhat simplistic
to think that my success can be measured by the winners to losers’ ratio but
this is NOT the case.
When it comes to placing a bet the better the price I get,
the more losers I can afford to have. I
am not going to bore you with some misguided view of what constitutes value and
‘NO BET IF’ rules, but I would like to make you aware of an error I made for
years.
I am sure that there are many of you out there that take the
view that when placing a bet it is a case of win some, lose some in respect of
the price taken. Some horses you back will drift during the course of the day,
some horses will shorten and it is hard to put a set of rules together which is
a fool proof market beater. This need not be the case!
BEST PRICE GUARANTEE – USE IT
One of the advantages we currently have available is that several
bookmakers offer a ‘Best Odds Guarantee’.
Not making good use of this facility, in my humble opinion, lacks a
winning mentality. At the time of
writing we have 7 bookmakers making the offer, so we have plenty of
choice.
EARLY PRICES – GRAB THEM
How happy would you be if you made a loss of 32 points in
a month?
My horse racing tips service made a small profit during
September at SP prices. I chose to
qualify my profits at SP prices so potential subscriber’s are fully aware of
what should be the worst case scenario. The reality is somewhat brighter!
So let’s take a look at the SP prices of September’s
winners in comparison to the early prices that I took. Based on a moderate September, below are the
winning selections made during the month. After the horses name is the number of points,
Meeting, Race Time, Date, SP Price, Profit at SP, and Profit at Early Prices.

Taking prices from the earliest markets, whether it is
from the night before or early morning, has provided a profit of 33 points
greater than the profit made at SP prices.
Whether you are betting £1 stakes or £100 stakes, this is
a significant advantage when 12 of the 17 horses returned shorter than the early
morning prices.
