I had helped myself to 10-1 when the market opened and was so bullish about the chances I topped up with some 13-2 minutes before the off. Once they had gone 4 furlongs I was sure the money was lost. Southwell is not one of those tracks where you can give up that amount of ground. There are some bets you will remember for years and embellish the story when reliving the race over a brandy with friends. This is one of those races and I take my hat off to Ian Burns the young lad on-board for his composure earlier.
