A body found in Leeds identified as racing commentator. Police had searched for Mr Fraser for more than a week and confirmed a body found in a Leeds river is that of missing horse racing commentator George Douglas Fraser. Mr Fraser, known as Doug, was reported missing on 5 June, after failing to arrive for work at Hexham Races in Northumberland.
Police discovered his body in the River Aire, close to the Millennium footbridge in Leeds, on 13 June.
An inquest into the death of Mr Fraser, 55, was due to open on Monday. Mr Fraser was known in the racing world for his commentaries for betting shops, radio and TV, and from courses across the UK. Police are not treating his death as suspicious.
