The missing link.........

I am sure there will be many frustrated by today’s horse racing fixtures being all but wiped out by bad weather. For me, it has been a while since I have felt so enthusiastic on a daily basis about the forthcoming day's racing.

Since collaborating on the ‘Sires’ project I have been like a child on Christmas day, feeling like a missing link has been found.

The Actuary All Weather Horse Race Tips reports Wolves call inspection

Wolverhampton will hold a precautionary inspection at 10am ahead of Friday's evening fixture due to forecast snow.
Up to six centimetres of a combination of snow, rain and sleet can be expected at Dunstall Park over the next 24 hours.

Matt Chapman - A little gem!

The Actuary All Weather Horse Racing Tips Wolverhampton and Kempton Park preview

Although yesterdays offerings did nothing for the bank balance it would be wise to stay on the right side of PEREIRA. What the resulting third place doesn’t tell you is how it absolutely blitzed over 5f. Unfortunately this was before the race on the way to the start.

Even after that exertion PEREIRA still remained competitive at the finish going down by only 2 lengths. A bitter sweet result was always likely as the two point subscriber’s selection Taglietelle took the race. I would like to point out that we were on at odds against at not the 8-13 SP.

A non-runner and abysmal flop FLASHLIGHT did nothing to right the wrongs of the 7:15

On the ‘Pace and Going’ front today Wolverhampton offers nothing as consistent as I would like to see with EXCEEDEXPECTATIONS in the 4:45 and SPRING TONIC 5:15 as close to perfection as I can find, but with each having one questionable rating as a chink in the armour.

Kempton looks much the same with the exception of STORM Kempton 6:30 who fits the bill as a horse of merit but is likely to be a price that will prohibit any money going down. As with the Wolverhampton card FLYING TEMPO 8:00 Kempton has only the one blemish on its record so fails to meet my strict criteria.

With just the one card at Kempton Park on the All Weather today opportunities are slim and we arrive with a conflict of interests.

The Actuary All Weather Horse Race Tips Kempton Park and Wolverhampton preview

Not a lot takes the eye at Kempton Park today until the main event at 4:20 where I would like to make a case for one at a big price RONINSKI who is never far away in this grade come the finish. Although its recent win to run ratio is poor, its distance beaten would suggest it will make the frame at a nice price. The only horse in the field with a Lincoln entry, I can’t pretend am not concerned that this outing might in preparation for 5 days time where it currently trades at 33-1.

Looking at the day’s results I feel vindicated in being unable to find any selections for subscribers on today’s Lingfield card.

I did however have time to put together a quick appraisal of the month so far broken down in to the individual methods that make up The Actuary All Weather Horse Racing Tips selections.

ON THE MONEY:  Has seen seven selections with 4 winners (57.14%) at 10-1, 7-1, 9-2 and 4-1 providing +21.25 of the month’s profit.

The selections below are not selections sent out to subscribers but simply other considerations

Lingfield Parks opener at 2:15 look like a motley crew and the basis on which The Manx Missile is favourite looks more to do with Trainer and Jockey, possibly breeding than anything in the form book. I am happier siding with HAWSIES DREAM from both a form and speed perspective, the better price is a welcome bi-product.

You might think I am going to follow this horse over the edge of a cliff but surely BAPAK BANSAWAN will finally get his head in front in Lingfields 2:45. Badly hampered last time out and just caught on its penultimate run it, has certainly not had fortune on its side. Until today that is J

Now on the same mark as its last win here.
BUBBLY BALLERINA is a model of consistency and with Danziger now looking to be in the hands of the handicapper has only Catalina’s Diamond to fear in the 3:15.

In the 3:45 SILVER DIXIE looked like there was room for improvement and is bred to get further than when beating Pencombe last time out over 10f. El Massivo has won over course and distance but the recent run of Mirth who was only 1.3/4 length away has put that victory in to perspective.

It felt a little like digging ourselves in to a hole before digging ourselves back out for The Actuary All Weather Horse Racing Tips subscribers today with our earlier selections and better prices failing including 3 point selection Spring Tonic who was 5 lengths clear of all rivals with the exception of the winner Erodium.

With only FARRAAJ (@9-4) providing any respite we found ourselves 6 points down AFTER THE 4:05 Lingfield Park. This is where the tide turned and our three remaining selections all came home in front.

First saw BUCKLAND drift like the proverbial barge from 5-2 to 9-2 giving us 4.5 points leaving us -1.5 adrift.

2 point selection CLASSIC COLORI (@6-4) put us a little ahead by +1.50 points and finishing off with HIDDEN COIN (@EVENS) leaving us ending the day 2.5 points in front.

Although it will never influence selections, when you wake each morning in the hope of continuing a long run of profitable days, 2.5 points is not spectacular but in terms of how the day started it came as a great relief. :)
