Hector's takes Chance with Daring Damsel

It was bitter sweet for The Actuary Horse Racing Tips in 7:30 Kempton Park. Top rated Hectors Chance took the prize under Richard Hughes at an SP of 11-1 but unfortunately subscribers were hoping that lightening would strike twice after landing a big pay day when Daring Damsel was 'On The Money' and 'The Actuary' selection last time out. A selection again today for 'Speed and Class' but was unable to hold of the challenge of the top rated.

Speed and Class selection Ballyheigue takes 6:55

The Actuary Horse Racing Tips 'Speed and Class' selection Ballyheigue available at 10-1 with B365 and Victor Chandler earlier today made all to win Kempton Parks 6:55 at an SP of 13-2. Shane Kelly must have felt the game was up after David Probert riding Savida was almost on terms in the final furlong but Ballyheigue kept on fighting and held on grimly by a head to ensure a profit for subscribers on the day

Horse Racing Tips: Classic trials switched to All-Weather at Lingfield Park
This weekend’s Derby and Oaks Trials at Lingfield will be run on the all-weather after course officials made the early decision to abandon all the turf races on Friday and Saturday’s cards.

Could Lily Lily be so good they named her twice!

The Actuary Horse Racing Tips drew a blanks from the few selections made at Southwell yesterday. The couple of P&G interests thrown up ran favourably without boosting the bank at Casa Actuary.

Hakuna_matata_pg

Hakuna Matata looked more likely to be pull up in the opening exchanges than finish third at 16-1. With the winner Alpha Tauri scorching off in front from the get go, the race didn't conform to the usual pattern and the selection was doing all its best work in the closing stages.

Feeling_good_pg

Feeling Good also featured as a selection for 'On The Money' and 'Speed and Class' so it was somewhat disappointing to see Feeling Good run down in the final strides by a horse that was under pressure turning for home. Feeling Good was going well turning for home under Barry McHugh who always seemed to be unsure when to put the hammer down.

Lily_lily_pg

That was yesterday! Today we have some new opportunities (8) the best I believe to be Lily Lily. Although it was 845 days since Lily Lily last appeared at Southwell her form figures of 112 at the course and P&G ratings that would suggest that the quality of these races was above today's standard makes me feel reasonably confident that at minimum Lily Lily should be in the frame.

Horse Racing Tips - Pace and Going

The Actuary Horse Racing Tips 'Pace and Going' figures were seen to good affect again on yesterdays card at Kempton Park. Fortuitously perhaps in the first where Ceiling Kitty was the only horse with a rating. Nevertheless it should pointed out that if the figure had been less than 97% we would have had no interest. Ceiling Kitty won at 5-2 beating 4-6 fav Citius
Ceiling_kitty_pg

We also had an interest in the following race with Exceedance who in the words of the Racing Post 'blitzed' the field and the race was won within the first two furlongs. As with Ceiling Kitty, Exceedance consistency was unproven but both had exceeded expectations to date and the 7-1 SP was well worth the gamble.
Exceedance_pg

The next race where we had an interest was in the 4:20 with Muntasir. Unfortunately this time we would be disappointed with the selection unable to pick-up to the same degree as the first two home.
Muntasir_pg

We had two interests in the 4:50 with Ashva and Terdaad. The writing was on the wall for Ashva from the start after missing the break. Terdaad in my opinion should have won!  Taken back from a prominent position to midfield Dettori simply gave the horse to much to do and closed all the way to the line to fail by a neck.
Ashva_terdaad_pg

Only one interest in the 5:20 again with a similar profile to those above with just the one rating. Fade to Grey was given a patient ride by De Sousa but was frequently niggled but was always going the best in the closing stages to win at 5-2.
Fade_to_grey_pg

And in the final race our interest turned to Haamaat. Unlike the profile of those selected in the previous races Haamaat shines out as the P&G banker on the card with three flawless ratings. Unfortunately it was in opposition to a 'Speed and Class' selection and won out at 10-11
Haamaat_pg

No so busy tomorrow with only two Southwell races of interest from a P&G prospective. And in both races we are in opposition to two of the most heavily touted horses on the card!
