Massive gamble landed for The Actuary Horse Racing Tips

Advised last night by The Actuary All Weather Horse Racing Tips at 10-1 three point selection Caldercruix takes Southwells 4:30 under Raul Da Silva.

Chasing the long time leader Alpha Tauri it looked doubtful whether the selection would go past as it ducked in behind the leader inside the final furlong. Raul Da Silva corrected his path and won going away as Aplha Tauri started to paddle.

With Jack Dawkins already scoring for subscribers, a hat ful of selection still to come in the remainder of the Southwell card before going in to Wolverhampton tonight it could be a bumper day!

The Actuary Horse Racing Tips All Weather Southwell preview

The main All Weather focus of The Actuary Horse Racing Tips attention today will be Southwell’s afternoon card marginally ahead of the Wolverhampton evening card with the 4:30 taking centre stage.

With a 3 point selection in the race at what I believed to be ridiculously generous odds I thought I would revisit the race and consider dangers to The Actuary Horse Racing Tips selection. MASAI MOON was the horse that I felt most likely to trouble our selection. It’s one success from five attempts over C&D may be a little bit of a deterrent but forgiving a 9 length defeat in a claimer has only been beaten nk, 3/4L AND 3.1/4L along with its victory in Handicaps. Currently at double figure odds has to be considered a good EW proposition.  

In the race prior to this, the step back to a mile over a more testing surface should surely fit the bill for three times bridesmaid ARYAL. On all three occasions the selection has led on 

polytrack only to be caught late. I would be hopeful that a Mark Johnston horse will be able to keep grinding away on a surface where they won’t be able to close so quickly.

The other race that has caught my eye is Southwell’s opener at 2:20 due to the fascicle manner of victory by JACK DAWKINS two days ago. With three of its rivals re-opposing today I am unable to see any reason why any of those three should turn the form around should the selection adopt the same tactics. The danger may come from one of the other three namely Xpres Maite.

The Actuary first of two selections Clubland wins (advised at 6-1)

The first of today’s two Actuary Horse Racing tips selections Clubland (advised at 6-1) made easy work of its 13 rivals over a misty Southwell 5 furlongs.

Drawn 1, The Actuary selection led from pillar to post under Mark Coumbe and gradually worked its way over to the stands rail chased by only M J Woodward who closed to within 1.1/4 lengths. The success continues March rich vein of form with subscribers already +26 points to the good for the month.

The Actuary Horse Racing Tips February 2013 Report

Sorry for the delay Guys, The Actuary February report has now been published on Scribd and can be accessed through the ‘2013 RESULTS’ page.

Looking back over the month I guess we can be fairly satisfied with doubling the profit made in January with a cosy 35.16% strike rate. If you can use the word ‘cosy’ in a derogatory fashion, that is my intent. I would personally find a 25% strike rate and a larger profit margin more appealing but I know many of you feel far more comfortable with a high strike rate.

Ironically ‘Speed and Class’ recorded a 35.7% strike rate but was the only method with a loss of -8.12 for the month. The full break down read:

THE ACTUARY +16.55

ON THE MONEY +11.00

TRIP HANDICAP +3.82

SPEED AND CLASS -8.12

TOTAL PROFIT +23.25

Once again we had our fair share of second (18.68%) and third (15.38%) placing which I guess is par for the course. What did hurt where the number of big prices that fell in to this category. As an example, the last day of February saw Tight Lipped advised at 11-1 and Petersboden advised at 10-1 both finishing second. The whole of the month seems to be littered with similar scenarios and a couple of these dropping in would have seen a dramatic increase in the month’s profit.

Not that we should indulge in any premature gloating but with 22 points already in the bank for March let’s hope we can break of few records!

Another winning day with The Actuary Horse Racing Tips

The Actuary Horse Racing Tips continued its fine run of form on Saturday afternoons Lingfield Park card.

Following up on Fridays successes which saw three of four selections winning, we were offered 2 selections book-ending the Lingfield card. With one of two selections Love You Louis declared a non-runner all hopes rested with Swing Easy (advised at 5-1)

Swing Easy was towed along through the early stages by Lucky Mountain, pulling double for Graham Lee only to find himself involuntarily leading well over three furlongs out. Only Gabrial The Duke was able to offer any competition as they turned for home and Graham Lee had to do little more than shake the reins to keep the selection Swing Easy in front.

33-1 Actuary top rated, Smirfy's Silver takes Wolverhampton opener

The Actuary Speed Figures got this evenings Wolverhampton meeting off to a flying start with top rating 33-1 shot Smirfy’s Silver making easy work of the opener.

Rated well clear of the favourite and second rated Sommersturn who had a luckless trip and was never able to get in to the race.

  

Jordan Nasson looked to be having difficulty in settling Smirfy’s Silver in the early stages as it pulled for its head before dropping  in to midfield, taking up the running in the final furlong and scoring by a comfortable 2.1/4 lengths.

Some consolation for The Actuary Horse Racing Tips subscribers after David Probert dropping his hands on Paphos cost a 2 point 9-4 victory in Lingfield Park first. Electrician advised overnight at 7-1 fought back gamely to beat 1-2 on Flamborough Breeze.

An enterprising ride from Andrea Atzeni saw Electrician make the pace and continue to galvanise his mount even when passed by the odds-on favourite inside the final furlong. Atzeni ground every ounce out of Electrician to get his head back in front right on the jam stick.

David Probert drops his hands to cost punters on even money favorite Paphos

After my criticism of the Taunton Stewards yesterday It will be interesting to see the reaction of stewards at Lingfield Park towards David Probert dropping his hands on Paphos believing the race to be won in the opener.

Speaking through the pocket with a 2 point win for subscribers of The Actuary Horse Racing Tips at 9-4, certainly not! I have almost become apathetically unemotional over jockey malpractice.


If you believe Robert Hawker was deserving of a 12 day ban, you wouldn't be expecting to see David Probert much before the summer. Consistency among stewards is not their strong suit and I fear that it will be no more than a month at most.

Backers of Paphos have done their money and Probert will simply shrug it off and be free to do the same again when he next chooses to have a break. How about a public apology? That would go along way in making me feel better.
