A reversal of Thursdays two in a race where the larger of
the prices went in at 20-1, Friday saw the shorter of the two take the prize,
and I was far happier with getting the opening show of 7-4 than I would have
been taking the SP of 6-5 for THAT'S PLENTY. The second selection in the race
HONEY OF A KITTEN was unable to dominate to the manner it has become accustom finishing
3rd at 7-1. And we racked up another non-runner in the form of Lilo Lil.
Dundalk also performed reasonably well on the figures once
again and I am sure that if it continues in the same vain it won't be to long before
I have the confidence in making subscriber selections on the cards. Hopefully
readers picked up on the best bet on the card PAENE MAGNUS at a very handsome
7-1 courtesy of Joseph O'Brien's mount being backed down to 4-7 after having
ridden a treble on the card prior to this race.
The Canadian didn't fare quite so well and once again I was
left feeling that singles would have been a wiser choice after the final
selection MONTE CASSINO popped up at 14-1. We certainly had some bad luck and
traffic problems causing mayhem and I feel for Jordan Vaughan whose mount
SHYRON was continually beaten up after the customary tardy start.
Having only the one subscriber selection today gives plenty
of scope in races to entertain another Canadian, this time with the accompaniment
of straight wins :) In the opener Wilhana will be to short to play so we will
start proceedings with Buster Brown @ 10-1 in the 6:20, Royal Sea @ 10-1 in the
6:50, Cloudy Start @ 25-1 in the 8:20 and Tatting @ 7-2 in the 8:50, finally
the pièce
de résistance Lieutant Nelson @ price unknown but trading @ 22-1
on the exchanges. Although the breeding does not scream 'sprinter' the
selection is based upon the shoddy nature of opposition! A 10p Yankee will
provide us with just short of 52k so I suggest we meet up in Cayo Coco in a
couple of days to celebrate our win :)
Good Luck to you all
